It's for anyone looking for resources to ask better questions, do the inner work, and contribute to anti-racism battles all around the country.
Because it is. It's time to do the work. There is no amount of work that is harder than trying to survive years of generational trauma and being targeted for the color of your skin.
Racism is not binary - it is individual, interpersonal, institutional, and structural. In the words of Angela Davis: "in a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist."
The Black community has enough on their plate without the rest of us leaning on them to provide clarity on a situation we all play a part in perpetuating (yes, doing nothing does something). From Audre Lorde to Ibram X. Kendi — there's no shortage of resources from people who have been doing the work as their life's work. It's time for us to listen and...you guessed it — do the work.
Moreover, we believe that for allies, the growth mindset is extremely important - we have an incredible amount to learn, and we can always do better.
Our priority is to elevate voices of Black writers, authors, historians, and creators.
